Helen Woo Womenˇ¦s Diagnostic & Treatment Centre provides comprehensive screening
services for women. We believe in health promotion and education. We stress the
importance of looking after both the physical and psychological well-being of
our clients. Our centre is managed by the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology,
The University of Hong Kong. We are committed to provide specialist-led services
for accurate diagnosis, effective treatment and comprehensive empathic counselling
to women. |
| | Services are provided
by a combination of Specialists in Obstetrics & Gynaecology from the University
of Hong Kong, specialist radiologists, radiographers, registered nurses and specialist
pathologists. Specially trained staff offers support, counselling and treatment
to those with abnormal screening results. Their anxieties and concerns are addressed. |
| | The centre
is equipped with a modern and powerful mammography system, with the support of
stereotactic and guided biopsy systems, ultrasound machine, bone densitometer
that measures lumbar and pelvic bone density and colposcopy systems. Clinical
staff can accurately identify any abnormal lesions with the use of these equipments.
We also use the most advanced automated liquid based cervical cytology test and
the test report will be generated in a cervical cytology laboratory accredited
by the American College of Pathologists for cervical cancer screening to further
improve our diagnostic accuracy. Molecular tests for HPV DNA detection are also
available. |
| The centre provides
a serene waiting area, with various health promotional videos and reading materials.
There is also a touch screen information kiosk providing up-dated health information. |
